När jag först tittade igenom de 270 bilder som var med i fototävlingen Wiki Loves Public Art (WLPA) i Sverige, tänkte jag att det blir ett stort och krävande jobb att kunna välja endast tio bilder att skicka vidare till den internationella tävlingen. Detta på grund av att ALLA bilder i den svenska delen av WLPA hade sådan högt kvalité! Det fanns utmärkta bilder av både minitatyr och stora skulpturer, samt mycket zoom-vänliga bilder av målningar och av färgstarka och udda (men ändå väldigt fina) afrikanska och asiatiska masker.
Tio bilder fick till slut gå vidare i tävlingen, efter två röstningsomgångar av de fem jurymedlemmarna. Bilderna bedömdes med hänsyn till följande tre riterier: tekniskt kvalitet, originalitet samt nyttan av bilden för Wikipedia. Jurymedlemmarna var Rose-Marie Westling och Hannes Anderzen, båda fotografer på Världskulturmuseerna, Mikael Lindmark från Wikipedia-communityn, Adethya Sudarsanan som gästjuryledamot från Indien samt av mig själv som ordförande för juryn. Nu vill jag bara gratulera alla de som vunnit och önska alla de tio bilder som nu går vidare till den internationella delen av Wiki Loves Public Art lycka till! Vi har så fina bilder att skicka vidare och nu kan vi bara hoppas för att en av dem kommer vinna även där!

When going through the 270 pictures submitted to the photo contest Wiki Loves Public Art in Sweden, it felt like a huge task to be able to choose only the ten best photos! This was because the quality of ALL of the submissions was extremely high! We had some amazing photos of miniature and life size sculptures, some very zoom-friendly pictures of paintings and then the colourful pictures of the rather odd but non-the-less amazing celebratory masks to mention a few examples.
The ten pictures that finally were chosen to be sent forward to the international competition had to go through two stages of online voting by the five jury members. The pictures to go forward were judged for example based on the following criteria: their technical quality, originality as well as their usefulness for Wikipedia. The jury consisted of Rose-Marie Westling and Hannes Anderzen, both photographers from Världskulturmuseerna; Mikael Lindmark from the Wikipedia-community; Adethya Sudarsanan as a guest jury member from India; and of myself as the chairperson of the jury. Now I wish to send my dearest congratulations to all of the winners and to wish good luck to the final ten in the international Wiki Loves Public Art contest! I think we have some very quality pictures to send forward and would love to see one of them to take the full pot!
